For who? Pupils from the 5th and 6th grade.

What we offer: A half-day activity on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th of October:

A guided tour at the expo We Are The Next Generation with the best student projects from creative higher design education followed by a workshop of your choice offered by the following Howest programmes:  Industrial Product Design, Digital Design & Development and Digital Arts and Entertainment.

Please note that the number of seats is limited!

You can choose between the following workshops:

1. Product development and creativity workshop
Solving a technical-creative problem, brainstorming, sketching ideas and developing a prototype! During the workshop we will introduce you to a simple design process with a "finished" prototype as the end result. As a surprise, we keep the concrete assignment until the start.

2. Sketch Make Play
Take the first steps in programming and animation with your students. In just half a day, you'll be able to create stunning and animated visualizations that can instantly pass for deadmau5' new music video. Using basic shapes, colour and frame-by-frame techniques, we can program original and creative animations in no time.

Can only be booked on Thursday and Friday morning
for a group of max. 20 students.

By the course Digital Design and Development Howest.

3. "How games are made"
During this presentation and tour you will learn how a game is created. We start with the concept phase and end with the release. Attention will be paid to the people behind the scenes, in particular the artists and programmers. Finally, the DAE course will be explained and the opportunities it offers in terms of employment in the VFX and gaming industries.
