Discover Kortrijk with this walk along unique landmarks, shops, restaurants and events in 6 creative neighbourhoods! To be picked up at the reception of the Kortrijk Creativity Week.
Kortrijk has a long tradition of international trade. Already in the Middle Ages the Kortrijk flax was one of the most important Flemish export products. Thanks to this flax, the city has a reputation for craftsmanship, high-quality design and entrepreneurship. Wars and economic setbacks have forced the textile industry to reinvent itself. This necessary transformation made the Kortrijk region what it is today: creative and resilient. That is why Kortrijk was awarded membership of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network on 31 October 2017, in the domain of design.
