KNOT YOUR OWN SHOPPING BAG

Macramé's back! And how! During this hands-on workshop Jessie will teach you some basic macramé buttons and you can make your own shopping bag in folded rope! That flax is a top example of circular economy, we don't need to explain to you anymore. Nothing is lost from flax. And with a 100% natural product like flax rope, you're going to work wonders. Make some magical knots and go... You are the designer of your own reusable shopping bag. Once you have mastered the knots, you can continue to design and create at home to your heart's content! Who knows, you might soon start with a complete boho handbag line of your own...

Jessie Coppens (°1988, Ghent) has a passion for fiber art and everything to do with textile and texture. She has taught herself various craft techniques such as macramé, smyrna, embroidery and tapestry. With Oskar & Suzie she shares her passion for crafts and textiles.

This workshop takes place during Kortrijk Creativity Week, a collaboration between Designregio Kortrijk, Howest, the city of Kortrijk, Voka West-Vlaanderen, Intercommunale Leiedal and Biennale Interieur. With this event they want to highlight the added value of design thinking for education, industry and public space.
